As someone who thoroughly enjoys street art, I was excited to see what London, a hub of diversity, had decorating its walls. However, I quickly realized how little really showed up in the majority of the city. Beyond a simple graffiti tag on a bridge or in an Underground station, the city seemed void of street art. I was sorely mistaken. On my birthday, we traveled to White Chapel neighborhood

for our professional visit with Beyond Words. As we neared their office, I became happily surprised at the menagerie of street art that covered the walls.

In this gallery, some of the street art shows strong influences from economic strife, social irresponsibility, and pop cultural influence. Other’s are just beautiful murals that bring a little color and life to the streets. However, both are just trying to catch the eyes of by-passers.
